For many years, I was employed in senior management and marketing positions within corporate America. Throughout my career, I also maintained personal interests in massage therapy, metaphysical sciences, and the manufacturing & wholesaling of unique picture frames.
In the corporate environment, I bared witness to daily conditions where people felt 'detachment' on multiple levels. Separation from universal consciousness can be substantially influenced by the demand of the work environment to adapt to the culture in order for us to sustain our basic needs. Indeed, many work cultures disgorge negative energy creating opportunities for many to feel imbalance. Therefore, I longed for an environment of healthy energy where the opportunity continually exists for myself and others to experience solace, balance, oneness with all things, and celebrate the same within a healing environment of our own choosing. I decided to create a business of my own where I can create the type of environment and service that I personally enjoy and also explore my metaphysically inclined interests.
I am currently Managing Partner of Austin Private Car Service.
I enjoy travel and have explored Australia (Sydney/Great Barrier Reef), Canada, Peru (Lima/Sacred Valley/Machu Picchu), Cayman Islands, France (Paris), Mexico, Japan (Osaka/Tokyo/Kyoto), Puerto Rico, Spain (Madrid/Torremolinos/Malaga/Seville), and the Virgin Islands (American & British).
I am certified in CPR and Basic First Aid. I am a member of Mensa.
Why Massage Therapy?
"Massage therapy resonates fulfillment within my soul."
Making the decision to shift from a lifestyle of corporate meetings, deadlines, and people exchanging negative energy to one where I am a direct, positive influence on others has been an incredibly fulfilling experience ... and one that provides a great deal of enlightenment.
Clients arrive at my doorstep to escape the negative influences of this world. Because I understand where my clients come from, I have an opportunity to provide a non-judgmental environment of trust, peace, and solace that may be missing from their daily lives.
The positive impact that I am able to make on clients as I see and feel them leave my studio with an aura of 'being centered' gives me a sense of fulfillment that is exceedingly energizing.
An Education Beyond The Basics. A Gift That Transcends Knowledge. "To be an accomplished masseur necessitates more than clinical knowledge and the skillful application of technique. The gift to focus, resonate, and shift energy engenders a distinct benefit within the art of massage."
I met all the educational requirements, passed the State boards, and am licensed by the State of Texas (LMT #43685). In addition, I have also taken and passed the required curriculum for being a Massage Therapy Instructor for the State of Texas. Although the State of Texas requires six continuing education credits each year for each massage therapist, I continually exceed the requirements to ensure that I provide my clients the techniques and service they have every right to expect from a premier provider of massage therapy.
I am also a graduate of The Body Electric School where I have attended workshops in Oakland, California as well as participated in retreats at Wildwood Retreat Center in the Russian River Valley, Easton Mountain Retreat Center in the Hudson Valley of New York, and the Bodhi Manda Zen Center in the Jemez Mountains.
In addition, I have traversed beyond the standard educational requirements and have applied a blending of techniques in Western and Eastern philosophies. I have studied a variety of metaphysical sciences such as transcendental meditation and tantra ... both of which have a direct impact on the energy one may experience during a massage session.
Many clients have told me that they have experienced unsatisfactory massages from other therapists because it felt like the therapists were simply going through some sort of mechanical motion, or they were not 'mentally present'. I find these complaints are usually directed at therapists who may display a long list of educational achievements on their wall, but harbor little understanding of energy movement.
Some therapists believe that gaining additional education in how to jamb their fingers into particular portions of a client's body will enhance the client's experience. However, the clients that come to me are not looking for such "massages" that, in many cases, end up generating more tension than they relieve. When clients feel a 'void of energy', it is usually because the therapist was solely focused on technique, or simply too overworked from doing multiple back-to-back massages each day (unfortunately, a common practice at day-spas).
During massage, I am attuned to the energy that is revolving back and forth between the client, myself, and the universe. Attuned to this energy, I am able to work with the energy centers of the body (Chakras) as well as utilize the energy from the universe to facilitate a balance and enhance the experience of the client.
A therapist must not only have a good blend of massage techniques, but also have an understanding of energy movement, the ability to remain psychologically 'present', and have an intuitive understanding of the client's physical and emotional states. All these factors need to meld to achieve a meaningful session for the client. Many of these traits cannot be learned ... a therapist either has them, or does not.
I invite you to schedule a session with me. I only schedule up to three sessions a day so I can remain focused on providing my clients with superior service. I would be honored to share rejuvenating energy with you today.
Two Quotes for Reflective Meditation:
Note: The following two quotes form the basis for my service
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?"
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us: it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fears, our presence automatically liberates others.
"This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by
yourself as a mighty one; the being a force of nature instead of a feverish,
selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world
will not devote itself to making you happy.
I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community, and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can.
I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no "brief candle" for me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations."
... George Bernard Shaw, 1856-1950
